High Quality Welding Services in WA

To handle the immense stresses of Australian industry, high quality welding is absolutely essential. From construction and infrastructure to aviation and automotive applications, Kanyana Engineering is the go-to welding contractor for an extensive range of clients.

Welding has many benefits as a metal fabrication technique, using high heat to reliably bond two or more materials. Depending on the weld configuration and filler, the welded join can be even stronger than the base metal, forming a durable and long-lasting bond.

Kanyana Engineering offers comprehensive in-house metal fabrication and welding services, from design to final assembly. Our MIG/TIG welding equipment can accommodate single projects – including prototypes and one-off welding projects – as well as large volumes and production runs.

We can also perform a full complement of other metalworking services in-house, offering you unparalleled convenience in metal fabrication.

Product Assembly and Sub-Assembly

After metal components have been cut or shaped, the work-pieces will need to be joined or welded together to create a finished product or prototype. For those unfamiliar with the fabrication industry, this outcome is referred to as an assembly: several pieces of machinery form a self-contained unit.

Custom Design and Fabrication - Vehicle Fit-outs

Frequently Asked Questions - Welding & Metal Fabrication

TIG stands for Tungsten Inert Gas and is a highly versatile welding method that uses non-consumable tungsten electrodes to heat metal. TIG welding can be performed with or without a filler.

TIG welding enables professional welders to join small and thin metal components. It is typically a slower welding method requiring longer lead times but the advantages are:

Greater welding control

Strong and precise results

Visually-pleasing welds

TIG welding is used extensively in the aerospace industry, along with smaller metal manufacturing and repair work. TIG welding is most effective for thin sheets of stainless steel, as well as non-ferrous metals such as copper alloys, magnesium, and aluminium.

MIG stands for Metal Inert Gas and, compared with the TIG method, it is a much faster welding method that can significantly reduce lead times and production costs. The end-product also does not require additional cleaning and finishing.

MIG welding uses a consumable wire which acts as both the electrode and the filler material. While it is the fastest welding method, the resulting joins are not as precise or as durable as TIG welding. MIG welding is usually recommended for large, thick materials. The three most common industries that utilize MIG welding are the automotive industry, construction and mass production manufacturing.

Common products/services that utilize MIG welding are vehicle repairs (cars, motorbikes, vans and SUVs), structural steel work, auto and ship parts, among others.

Unsure what type of welding is best for your needs? We’d be happy to talk through the details of your project and lend a helping hand.
